When I found this idea on Pinterest this morning, I knew that I had to share it. This suggestion comes from The Dating Divas but was adapted for the Christmas season. And since today marks the 13th day before Christmas, it might as well be shared while there are still 12 days left.
Leading up to Christmas, leave a different treat with a cute little note for your boyfriend/fiance/husband (or girlfriend/fiancee/wife) to let him know you're thinking about him. Either make your own notes for a personal touch or download the ones provided by Dating Divas to save time and energy.
Do you do anything special to commemorate the 12 Days of Christmas in your house?
I love Etsy. I myself am a seller on Etsy, selling wedding stationery at my shop Reply by Design Studio. But there are so many other great sellers on Etsy with so many unique, well-priced, and quality items. Weddings are a huge market on the site, so if you are a bride looking for some different and inexpensive touches for your wedding I would suggest starting there.
While browsing this morning I found so many wonderful items to share, so here are a few to get started.
I love the idea of personalized hangers and think they make for a great photo op on the big day. You can have them customized with your new last name, words, the date of your wedding, and just about anything you can think of. There are a number of sellers who make this item on Etsy, with prices starting at $13. This particular hanger comes from Novia Artesana's shop and costs $18.50.
This guitar pick is a really cute idea as a gift or decoration at a wedding where the bride and/or groom loves music or playing the guitar. This item comes from Greenleaf Pick Company and sells for $33. Check out their shop to see other design options as well.
These shoe decals will add some glitz to your footwear and can also count as your "something blue." There are several other color choices in case blue doesn't do it for you. These retail for $10 and are sold by Your Happily Ever After.
I really enjoy this take on the traditional ring bearer pillow. This pillow personalized with the bride and groom's initials comes from Bragging Bags and sells for $29.99. If you like the carved wood style, this shop has a ton of similar items raging from votive holders to keepsake boxes.
Are you bored by the idea of the same, leather-bound book for your guests to sign at your wedding? Unique guest book ideas are a big trend right now, and couples are getting very creative with the process. Here are 10 guest books that I find particularly inspiring.
Have your guests fill out postcards that are already addressed to the bride and groom. Then ask someone you trust to mail them to your home so that when you return from your honeymoon, you still have a piece of your wedding to enjoy.
Each guest can write her well-wishes on a piece of fabric, and then you (or someone more crafty) can stich them all together into a quote that you will have to cuddle up with forever.
This simple guest book just asks guests to sign their names, but you can then use the poster as a keepsake that you will display in your home. If you like these colors, you can download an editable PDF version of this design here.
Display a wooden or metal version of your last initial and provide sharpies for your guests to sign their names and write their well-wishes. Not only will you have a unique guest book, you will also have a new piece of wall art for your home.
Since the bride works for Google and the groom works for Facebook, it seemed natural that computers would be worked into their big day. They set up a kiosk where guests could live blog to the bride and groom, and they will now have the website to look to whenever they want to remember their big. This "pixel cowboy" wedding had amazing details and is definitely worth a look.
I really adore this idea. Have guests write their notes on wooden hearts, then place them inside a woven box to keep on a shelf in your home. You can buy the kit from Dazzling Expressions on Etsy.
Guests sign their names on their birthdates. This helped the bride to send birthday cards to all of her guests.
This idea knocks out the guest book and escort card dilemma all at once. Provide a polaroid camera and let your guests take pictures of themselves as they arrive. When they take their escort card off the clothespin, they replace it with the polaroid picture.
The "leaf your thumbprint" wedding tree guestbook has really taken off, but this is a unique alternative that still gets your guests' thumbs in ink but is a little bit different. Visit bleu de toi's Etsy shop for this print as well as more options.
I really enjoy this idea. Encourage guests not just to write notes, but to also make you a drawing. I am sure you would get some really interesting, creative, and beautiful drawings by making that suggestion!
So, I love Gavin Degraw. I used to play his first album, Chariot, on repeat for hours. I think the words to this song in particular make a great song for a couple's first dance at their wedding. It's about making a promise to "follow through" on all of the dreams, ideas, hopes they have for the future. At least that's my pretty basic interpretation.
I like this version in particular because it's a stripped down version of the original, making it easier to slow dance to it.
I love this simple white cake with clean fondant, accented with amazingly detailed sugar flowers. This cake was made by Cake Ink.
I am sure that the song "Marry Me" by Train is one of the most played-out wedding songs at the moment, and deservedly so. But I love this rendition of the song that Pat Monahan, the lead singer of Train, recently did with Martina McBride for her new album Eleven.
I always love male-female duets as wedding songs, and I especially love these voices together.
What do you think? Do you prefer the original, Martina's version, or is the song totally overdone at this point?
